Dear Travelers,

We regret to inform our U.S. buyers of new shipping restrictions that impact how we can deliver your zines.

As we are preparing to launch the Leftover Sale for our zine, we were met by unexpected news from our Lead/Shipping Mod in Malaysia. The national courier service, Pos Malaysia, has suspended all shipments to United States as of 25th August 2025 due to the recent U.S. executive order suspending the "de minimis" exemption, which previously allowed low-value shipments (valued under $800 USD) to enter the U.S. duty-free with minimal customs processing.

Following the update, our Mod has been following up with the courier service. Although they have restored the Airmail service as of 29th August 2025, the Flexipack service which we have been using remained suspended. We were directed to an alternative service, Redly Express, which increased the shipping fees by 50% from $29.90 USD to $44.90 USD. 

Due to the current U.S. customs regulations, each package shipped from Malaysia will incur a flat customs duty (import duty) between $80 USD or $200 USD until February 2026. Due to the fact that some of our physical merchs (ie. Washi Tape and Acrylics) were previously manufactured in China, this would mean that the customs duty would be enforced for the following as such:
✦ Windwheel Aster bundle: $200 USD
✦ Dandelion and Calla Lily bundles: $80 USD

This customs duty must be borne 100% and paid by the recipient. Failure to do so may result in the package being destroyed. This customs duty is enforced at a flat rate until February 2026, after which it will be adjusted to a percentage-based rate according to Ad Valorem.

Due to the current enforcement of flat customs duty in the U.S., we strongly encourage buyers in the U.S., if still interested in the zine, to consider the following options:

  1. To purchase and send the parcel to a second alternate address outside of the U.S. to your family/friends so you may proceed to wait until the customs duty is adjusted in February 2026 for your later personal arrangements.
  2. If you would still like to proceed with the purchase and ship directly to the U.S. regardless, please be aware of the amount of duty that needs to be paid for each respective bundle. Any inclusion of Washi Tape or Acrylics items would cause the customs duty to jump from $80 USD to $200 USD. 
  3. The traveler may reserve the bundle with a 50% deposit of the bundle cost* and arrange shipping in February 2026, once the customs duty shifts to percentage-based rates. We will hold the bundle until the revised customs duty is confirmed, after which it will be shipped to the recipient. Please note that Mond Trio Zine will NOT be responsible for the final customs duty amount, as this is outside our control and subject to the U.S. government regulations. Deposits are non-refundable if the traveler cancels, as the booking has been secured. In such cases, the forfeited deposit will be donated to charity and the bundle will be re-released for sale.
    *Note: For 50% deposit option, please select 'Malaysia' as the shipping destination country. The denoted $5 USD shipping charges will be part of the deposit. Actual shipping fee will be charged later during the 2nd payment in February 2026. The shipping fee may vary depending on the types of courier services that would have resumed in February 2026.

This situation was an unexpected complication and we have come to this difficult decision after checking several times with our courier services. We deeply regret the unfavourable circumstances placed upon the travelers. Alternatively, the digital bundle is still available to grab. It may not be physical, but the hard work and efforts of each contributor remain impactful in the digital version of the zines. Not to mention that the digital Cecilia bundle also comes with exclusive digital wallpapers and videos voiced by our fandub VAs. 

We sincerely apologize for the difficulties of this situation and express our utmost appreciation for your continuous support for the zine.
